WHAT TO DO AT HIGHLAND DRIVE PARK?
The walking trail at Highland Drive Park provides park goers the ability to enjoy a walk around our soccer fields as well through a small section of woods. The trail as a whole equals 1 mile in length. The outer "loop" of the trail is 3/4 or a mile while the smaller "loop" around one of the soccer fields is 1/4 or a mile. Patrons may walk, jog or ride their bikes on the mile long track. No motorized vehicles please.
The picnic shelter at Highland Drive Park comes equipped with 2 restrooms and picnic tables. The shelter may be used on a first come, first serve basis during the months from November to March. The shelter may be rented for parties, meetings or other occasions during the months of April through October. The cost to rent the shelter is as follows; Monday - Saturday 8 AM - 7 PM is $50.00 (City Resident), $75.00 (Non-City Resident). Sunday 3 PM - 7 PM is $40.00 (City Resident), $60.00 (Non-City Resident). Reservations will be accepted beginning January 1st. Once reserved, the reserving party's name will be posted on the message board. Water (other than restrooms) and electricity WILL NOT be provided.
The playground, located near the shelter, is open during normal park hours. The playground will accommodate a wide range of children based on age and ability levels. Pets are not allowed in the playground area.
There are 2 baseball/softball fields that are open to free play. The fields may also be available for rent through the recreation office. During spring and fall soccer seasons the fields may be used for soccer games and practices. Please call the recreation department at 704-735-2671 for more information.
