Culture, Entertainment, & Activities

Incorporated in 1785, Lincolnton is the second oldest town west of the Catawba River. Our heritage is rich. History buffs will relish the opportunity to visit numerous Revolutionary War and Civil War sites, and a stroll down our tree lined streets reveals no shortage of historic homes from the nineteenth century. Over 200 years of history are just waiting to be discovered!

Lincolnton is equally acclaimed for its diverse array of cultural activities. Indeed, the sheer number of such opportunities is remarkable for a community of Lincolnton's size.
Thanks to the creative vision and dedicated efforts of countless volunteers, Lincolnton has been the host of historical celebrations and community theater productions, of literary, art, and photography competitions, of North Carolina Symphony concerts and Broadway entertainers, and of regional and local performers.
