Ramsour's Mill Ghost Walk

Saturday, June 4, 2022

Guided tours begin at 6pm on Friday and Saturday nights with the last tour out at 9 pm each night.

The ghosts of early Lincolnton settlers tell the tale of the Battle of Ramsour's Mill. Take a journey through the battlefield with the cast of “Thunder Over Carolina” to relive the personal stories of how a small Patriot militia defeated a substantial Tory encampment during the American Revolution on June 20, 1780.

Walk the grounds of one of the most important, and least known battles of the American Revolution, hear the stories of those who witnessed the fight of brother against brother, and neighbor against neighbor, where a small Patriot force defeated a much larger Loyalist force, become immersed in a recreation of the battle, and hear about the aftermath.

Admission is $10, with children under 6 admitted for free. Tickets can be purchased on site or at this ticket link

The interactive tours last approximately 30 minutes and include a guided group walking tour featuring vignettes and performances. The walk covers rough terrain (not recommended for anyone with mobility issues and not ADA accessible).

Ghost Walks start and end behind Battleground Elementary School, park at Lincolnton High School, and follow the trail to the back of Battleground Elementary.
