Pirate Week 2023 is official. It will be held from August 7 through August 12, (Monday through Saturday) with events each day.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9:  "The Magical Pirate Mystery Show" - Everyone's favorite local magician, Rick Ramseur, will delight, shock, surprise, and maybe even scare you out of your flip-flops with his truly inventive and thoroughly entertaining pirate-themed magic show at Pleasant Retreat Academy.  Rick is the owner of historic Woodside, which features heavily in the Laffite narrative, so he may even be willing to tell a few ghost stories of Woodside as an added bonus.  Fun for the kiddos aged nine to ninety!  Starts at 7PM.

Thursday, August 10 - Private screening of the 1958 Cecil B Demille classic movie, "The Buccaneer" starring Yul Brynner as Jean Laffite.

Friday, August 11 - Laffite's Treasure Hunt - a fun scavenger hunt that promises a wild ride and lots of fun - with prizes at the end.

And last but certainly not least - Saturday, August 12 is officially St. Luke's Pirate Day.  The day will begin with the First Annual Pirate 5K Run/Walk/Adaptive at 7:30 AM at St. Lukes, followed by Brunch With A Pirate at St. Luke's Parish House (we still think he looks a lot like Tommy Smith) and more - an entire slate of fun on Saturday to bring the Second Annual Pirate Week to a close.
