COVID-19 Update for Lincoln County NC, 9/04/20

There are currently 76 positive/active cases, 1,071 recoveries, 10 people under investigation, and 13 deaths in Lincoln County, NC.

Lincolnton, NC – 

The following counts are based on data reported to the Lincoln County Health Department as of 9/04/2020:

  • It is always tragic to lose one of our community members. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these families. With regards to the 13 deaths, 8 are related to a congregate-care facility. Lincoln County Health Department continues to work with congregate living facilities to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.
  • A PUI is a person who was tested for COVID-19 and is self-isolating until test results are received.
  • As of July 21, 2020, it is no longer recommended to require re-testing for negative test results (except in specific circumstances where an individual has a severely compromised immune system or pre-existing health conditions) to discontinue isolation to return to normal activities such as returning to work. 

The next scheduled Lincoln County COVID-19 data update will be released on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. 

Under the Governor’s Phase 2.5 EO163  effective September 4th, NC is under "Safer at Home Phase 2.5" restrictions and requires face coverings in all public places. The City of Lincolnton issued a proclamation mandating compliance with the face-mask requirements by businesses and persons within the City of Lincolnton.  More information, resources & links can be found on the city website www.LincolntonNC.org/Covid
