The Coalition of Churches honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr to commemorate civil rights and justice for all. Parade line-up starts at 1:30pm at 5/3 Bank, parade starts at 2:00pm led by Lincolnton High School marching band and marches down East Main Street from Cedar Street to the Court Square 2:00pm for a short ceremony. All are welcome to participate in the parade; join the group at Cedar & East Main.
The full weekend of activities includes:
MLK Banquet - Friday 1/18, 6pm at Lincoln County Club. NC Representative Chaz Beasley (92nd District), Speaker.
Worship Service - Sunday 1/20, 4pm at Lincoln Cultural Center. Rev. Dr. Michael Isaac, Speaker.
Community Breakfast - Monday 1/21, 8:30am at Hinton Memorial United Methodist Church. Commissioner Trevor M. Fuller, Mecklenburg County, Speaker
Youth Program Essay Contest - Monday 1/21, 11:00am at Lincoln Cultural Center. Essay contest winners selected.
